François de La Taille carries art in his DNA. He is descended from François Marcille, one of the most remarkable collectors and rediscoverers, particularly of the French School of the 18th century. By the other branch of his family tree, he is the grandson of a Fauve painter whose rediscovery he is preparing:Raoul de Mathan.
